The famous American writer and playwright Arthur Asher Miller was born on October 17, 1915 in New York to a Jewish family. His father owned a small factory for the production of garments, and his mother was a schoolteacher.
In 1938, Arthur Miller graduated from the University of Michigan. After the outbreak of the Second World War, he worked as a reporter at the Navy Yard in Brooklyn, New York, visiting military garrisons.
