He also is president of Trump Organization, a major construction company in the United States and founder of Trump Entertainment Resorts, which operates numerous casinos and hotels worldwide. Trump became a celebrity thanks to the extravagant lifestyle and frank communication style.

Trump started his business with renovation the Commodore, then he built his first Trump Tower in New York, and implemented other housing projects. Soon he decided to try his hand in the airline (acquired Eastern Shuttle company) and in gambling in Atlantic City, where he bought several casinos, including owned by Crosby family unfinished Taj Mahal, which was on the verge of bankruptcy. This expansion, which is partly funded through the Trump personal bank loans, has led to significant debts that he could no longer pay.
